Firing Service
At My Clay Table, we offer reliable and professional firing services for all your ceramic creations. Whether you're a hobbyist or a seasoned artist, our services are designed to make your pottery firing experience easy and convenient.
Pricing:
- Half a shelf: $15
- Full shelf: $30
- 93 Litre Kiln Hire: $150 (includes full control over your firing schedule)
Drop-off and Pick-up:
Our drop-off and pick-up location is in Hillcrest. Please ensure you confirm drop-off times with us via email or text, including your ETA, so we can be available to receive your work.
Firing Process:
- All work is fired only when bone dry.
- We fire general work to cone 06 for bisque and cone 6 for glaze.
- If you hire the entire kiln, you can select your preferred firing schedule.
- Glazes must be lead-free, as the kiln is used to fire tableware.
Turnaround Time:
Allow up to 2 weeks for the firing process to be completed.
Important Notes:
- We take great care in handling your work but cannot accept responsibility for any breakages or unexpected results.
- You will be invoiced when your work is ready for collection. Please pay the invoice before picking up your work.
- We load, fire, and unload your pieces for you.
- Work should be dropped off in a box, bag, or tray that fits the size of the pieces. Please avoid oversized boxes.
- If your work is fragile, you may drop it off while slightly damp and we can dry it out. However, we do not accept wrapped damp or bone-dry greenware - as we do not want to be responsible for unwrapping your work.
- For best results, leave a note with any special firing requirements, such as a specific firing schedule.
Storage Considerations:
We don’t have a lot of storage space, so please ensure your box fits your work snugly. Remember to leave your name, phone number, and email address for invoicing purposes.
Our Availability
We’re generally available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, but please confirm drop-off times in advance to ensure we're available.
